IEASA to specifically formulate a national codice of real estate training

Real estate trainers Jill Corfield and Lynette Malan have been appointed to co-chair a committee to drive a national education programme of the IEASA to specifically formulate a national codice of real estate training. The appointments were made at the IEASA's March 8 and 9 executive meeting in Johannesburg. Vice-president Bill Rawson says the committee would invite all real estate trainers to a forum whereby a national programme will be hatched with trainers participating under certain guidelines. Rawson says the need for the continuation of the institute was revisited by the executive committee with the conclusion being reached that it still played a valid role for the agent in that it was the only body that looked after estate agents' interests. Future structures for the body were evaluated with the decision reached that the body should be made up of 50 percent employee/agents and 50 percent principal/managers. Rawson said the committee were most impressed with the Institute's web-site, which has been launched to the Western Cape's 1600 members. It's national launch was seen as of great significance by executive council members in that it would be the only vehicle for agents to "emphasise themselves freely" as opposed to the principal websites which emphasise properties and services.
