Thank you to all members and friends who sent us seasonal greetings at the end of 2002. Your wishes were greatly appreciated, and any of you who came into the offices would have seen the many hundreds of greeting cards that brightened up our reception area. 2. IMPORTANT DEADLINES Two important deadlines that might creep up on you if you don't watch them! 2.1. Promotion of Access to Information Act A reminder that private bodies are required to submit their manuals to the Human Rights Commission by 28 February 2003. A background to the Act and guidelines for compiling the manual appear in the January edition of the Chamber Bulletin and in the Chamber's library. Or look on website www.sahrc.org.za, or for a template (word document) of the manual have a look on www.lexisnexis.co.za/template 2.2. Credit card drivers' licences Beware that if you haven't got your new credit-card type drivers' licence by the end of February you will have to re-do your driving test! Your old ID book driver's licence will be invalid on 1 March. 3. CHAMBER BUSINESS GUIDE Don't miss out on a wonderful opportunity to advertise your service or product nationally and internationally. CHAMBER COMMENTS ON BUSINESS SUPPORT POLICY The Chamber has submitted comments on the City of Cape Town's Business Support Policy, stressing that the Chamber wishes to strengthen its meaningful association with the City where public/private partnerships are developed to maximise the potential of making Cape Town the leading economic region of South Africa. 5. CALENDARS There are still a very few Chamber wall calendars available (free of charge). How about collecting some at our 2nd Floor Reception and handing them out to your overseas visitors - complete with the beautiful picture of Cape Town and Table Mountain. 6. DESIGN FOR LIVING - 25 April to 4 May 2003 It's time to take a stand on Design For Living - if you want to exhibit at this huge consumer show, please contact Nigel or Denise on 021-4024370. 7.
