IEA endorses prestigious awards - see more info under International News & Events
The Institute of Estate Agents of South Africa (IEASA) has joined its American and British counterparts, as well as media giants NBC, the London Daily Mail, and the New York Times, in endorsing the annual International Property Awards (IPA) programme for 2007. The IPAs, now in their thirteenth year, recognise top achievers in a range of fields throughout the residential property markets in 45 countries around the world. The category winners from each country go forward to compete for the "best international" awards. The IEASA has also been invited to nominate some eminent members to serve on the international panel of judges.
"We welcome this competition, which encourages estate agents to excel at their profession, and to uplift the industry as a whole, both locally and internationally," says IEASA national president Dr Willie Marais. "The standards of service excellence set by the awards are entirely in line with our Institute's values."
The IEASA, now in its seventieth year of service to the South African estate agency industry, promotes professional standards and provides training and other support to its members. It has been affiliated with the American National Association of Realtors since the 1980s, and last year it was appointed as the South African promoter for the SIMA international property expo in Spain. Marais says other international affiliations are currently being finalised.
The International Property Awards are open to estate agents, developers, architects, interior designers, promoters, public relations, and advertising professionals. Entries are judged by an international panel, and winners are entitled to display the IPA logo and to use the award for marketing purposes. The "best in the country" awards will be presented at a gala function in London in September, and the "best international" awards at a function in Las Vegas in November. Categories include: best development, best property, best estate agency, best property finder, best real estate marketing, best estate agency website, and best developer website.
