BIGGER & BETTER SHOW HOUSE BOARDS
The branch of the City of Cape Town that deals with show house boards has contacted the Institute offices to assure us that the original by-law which governs the size of boards as well as the hours of display and the number permitted has not changed. They note however that show boards seem to be getting bigger and bigger, and that some are being erected on illegal poles. It is the intention of the Council to remove these boards and heavily fine the firms guilty of violating the regulations. This process has already begun. Please be aware that you will be guilty of an offence if you exceed the regulation size and you will be fined. Should you have anything constructive to add to the present regulations and you would like the Institute to include your suggestion in an official statement to the Council, please send these to Vivien Marks at the office on fax no. (021) 531-2931.
